Robert P. “Bob” Doiron, Jr. brings more than 28 years of manufacturing experience in quality management systems, project management, quality engineering and operations management to Maine MEP. He has extensive experience guiding clients through the ISO certification process and an impressive track record of helping Maine firms achieve compliance with international quality management standards.
A practitioner of lean manufacturing and a member of the Maine MEP team since 2004, Bob has spearheaded dozens of lean initiatives for Maine manufacturers, leading them through lean awareness, value stream mapping and kaizen events. Over the years, he has developed ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems training, gap analysis, internal auditing and auditor training, statistical quality control training and other offerings.
Bob’s experience with quality management systems began over 20 years ago as a project manager for Shape, Inc., where he served as its ISO champion, establishing quality systems for new product launches at facilities in both the U.S. and China. He subsequently served as the general manager of Shape Global Technologies molded products group, before moving to Sanmina-SCI where, as a new product introduction manager, he successfully completed more than 20 new product engineering builds in four years with the company.
Bob also previously served as the manager of quality and process improvements at The Baker Company, where he was responsible for ISO 9001 management, coordinated the calibration program and IQOQ product deliveries and led 10 internal lean improvement events.
Bob’s professional certifications include American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor and ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training certification. He has served as an examiner for the Margaret Chase Smith Maine State Quality Awards (Baldrige-based awards) and currently serves on the executive committee of the ASQ Pinetree Section #0105.
Bob holds a BA in Zoology from the University of Maine Orono.
