Buffy Whitaker joined Maine MEP in December of 2023 and brings over 20 years of experience in project management and continuous improvement to the team, with a particular focus on standard work.  Most of her career has been spent helping small, privately owned physician practices to meet and exceed targeted improvement goals. Working with small businesses provided her with the opportunity to contribute toward the empowerment of small business owners, allowing them to thrive in today’s competitive landscape.

As Center Operations Coordinator, Buffy manages processes relating to required reporting to Maine MEP’s federal funding partners, which includes working with the team to meet deadlines, supporting our clients, troubleshooting systems issues and continuing to standardize our processes.  She truly enjoys problem solving – learning what needs to be done, then delivering solutions.  Studies in Marine Biology, Psychology and Education have given her the tools for assisting organizations in making data driven decisions, coaching on continuous improvement methodologies, and working through change.

When not working, Buffy enjoys spending time with friends and family, preferably on the water.
